Review
“I chose this text because it seemed to be the best at covering all the topics I thought should be in a nonprofit management class in a way that was accessible both to students who had no nonprofit experience and students who did. I use it for a joint undergrad/grad class so it has to be useful for both groups. I’ve had nonprofit directors sit in on my class and they found it useful.”
(Ann Marie Kinnell)“This text is a must-read for undergraduate and graduate students interested in learning more about or pursuing a career in the nonprofit sector. It is an excellent resource for gaining greater insight into the theories, best practices, policies, and trends underlying the effective management of nonprofits.”
(Catherine E. Wilson)“The books offers a very comprehensive coverage of topics. If students read one book to get a sense of what is involved in nonprofit management, it should be this book.”
(Chandra Commuri)“This text provides a breadth of topics that any nonprofit professional needs.”
(Christopher Klingeman)“Provides a solid overview of the key components for nonprofit organizations and their management as well as governance.”
(Christine W. Cugliari)“We began using it the first year of the first edition without a companion. The chapters align to the social work management competencies. Students enjoy the text. This is a terrific text.”
(David A. Coplan)“I have used this text for four years and believe strongly it is one of the best on the market. My students report that they keep this text for future reference.”
(Deborah Harley-McClaskey)“Excellent organization and useful in teaching in that the modules build upon each other.”
(John Conahan)“Students and faculty find this book to be one of the best for nonprofit work. The book provides theoretical perspectives along with real world application which is what we want our students to get. As a program preparing students to lead the more than 2 million nonprofits, this book provides an outstanding foundation.”
(Lynn W. Clemons)“The cases, or vignettes, that accompany the existing chapters are excellent resources for students. They reflect situations and organizations that are “accessible” to students. They enhance the chapters.”
(Marilyn L. Grady)“This text lays the foundation for students without any experience with nonprofit organizations and for those experienced, provides the next layer of understanding and expertise. I often have students that say that they will keep this text as a personal reference for future use.”
(Marjorie Carlson Hurst)“Nonprofit Management: Principle and Practice examines the field of nonprofit from a normative perspective and provides students with an understanding of the relationship between philanthropy, nonprofit and managerial economics. The book contains several topics and examples that one cannot find in other nonprofit texts. It will appeal to anyone interested in a better understanding of nonprofit functions in any society, nation or the world.”
(Robert Dibie)“This is a comprehensive introduction to the study of nonprofit management. Each chapter provides a sound foundation for further study in the topic of that chapter. This text lays the ground work for in depth study of the sector.”
(Sylvia Ramierz Benatti)“I adopted the Worth text because of its comprehensiveness, currency and readability. Students appear to appreciate the text for those reasons.”
(Thomas L. Winter)“Nonprofit Management: Principles and Practice is a comprehensive, up-to-date survey of nonprofit management. If I were to purchase only one book on the subject, Worth's Nonprofit Management would be it – not only for the well-written and easily understandable coverage of the topic, but for the invaluable additional resources and links provided at the end of each chapter.”

Bought the kindle version for a class. Would be far more useful if it was searchable, rather than having to go back to the table of contents.
