Andrew Stuart "Andy" Tanenbaum (sometimes referred to by the handle ast) (born March 16, 1944) is a professor of computer science at the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Classic. No TCP/IP in a Networking book, For REAL!

I am fascinated with Computer Networks. Can you find a book which does not have much about TCP or IP in modern world? Well the first edition of the classic Tanenbaum book has no reference or very little to IP and very little on TCP. Because this was written in 1980 and published in 1981. I got this as a collectible and it was in like new concept. I have read Edition 2 as part of undergrad coursework and that had significant difference. I read Edition 5 for work related purpose in 2012 and it was way different. I wanted to own Edition 1 and grabbed it. Tanenbaum retired in 2014 from teaching position and his fans and networking fans will love this book.
