Fun to read

This book is fun. I had the book 1+ year, my 9 yrs old kid is still reading it. I like to read the book too.

Needs Revision

This is a good book in some respects. There are many fine illustrations, the descriptions are concise and easy to understand, and it covers a variety of subject matter. However, there is one thing I find very strange. The book is about 300 pages, and covers over 100 topics with most of them being about two pages. Yet there is an entire section just on dinasaurs, which takes up more than 25 pages, and another section on knights and castles, which is about 40 pages. What is so important about dinasaurs, or castles? Ok, it is a children's book, and maybe they like those things. But the title and the format of the book suggests that it's a reference book or a general purpose book, like an encyclopedia or an almanac. If so, then many other topics should also have been included, or covered in more depth. This could have been a much better book, but the amount of space devoted to these subjects is unjustified.

My girls love this book. Whenever they ask interesting questions, we pull out this book to see the facts behind it. I love all the picture and illustrations. It explains each topic in a simplistic way for young kids to comprehend.
